Antibody Panel to proteins of the EGF-Like Module Containing Mucin-Like Hormone Receptor-Like Family
EMR1 antibody, EMR2 / CD312 antibody, EMR3 antibody and EMR4 antibody
EGF-Like Module Containing Mucin-Like Hormone Receptor-Like Sequence 1 (EMR1) and its related Proteins EMR2 and EMR3 are characterized as an Orphan-B GPCRs with unknown ligands. Their C-terminus contains seven hydrophobic segments, characteristic for G protein-coupled receptors. Family members are characterized by an extended extracellular region with a variable number of N terminal epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domains coupled to a TM7 domain via a mucin-like spacer domain.
The N-terminus of EMR1 has 6 EGF-like modules, separated from the transmembrane segments by a serine/threonine-rich domain, a feature reminiscent of mucin-like, single-span, integral membrane glycoproteins with adhesive properties. EMR1 has been reported to be expressed in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, monocytes, and hematopoietic and solid tumor-derived cell lines. ESTs have been isolated from human normal spleen and mixed liver/spleen libraries and from human kidney, colon, brain, and bone marrow cancer libraries.
EMR2, also known as CD312 is expressed predominantly by cells of the immune system. It is predominantly expressed on myeloid dendritic cells, monocytes and tissue macrophages. This gene is closely linked to the gene encoding egf-like molecule containing mucin-like hormone receptor 3 on chromosome 19. This protein does not interact with the ligand decay accelerating factor for complement, unlike the related CD97 antigen, and indicates that these very closely related proteins likely have nonredundant functions. Various isoforms of EMR2 have been documented. The ligand for the largest isoform of EMR2 has recently been identified as chrondroitin sulphate, which binds to the fourth EGF-like module of EMR2. ESTs have been isolated from blood, colon, lymph node, placenta, spleen, testis, and uterus libraries.
EMR3 may play a role in myeloid-myeloid interactions during immune and inflammatory responses. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms.EMR3 has been reported to be expressed in neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages. ESTs have been isolated from liver/spleen and mixed libraries.
Antibody Panel to EMR protein family (EMR-1 antibodies, EMR-2 antibodies, EMR-3 antibodies).
Acris Antibodies offers a collection of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies to all members of the EMR family (EMR-1, EMR-2/CD312, EMR-3) . These antibodies are usefull for detection of EMR proteins using western blotting and immunohistochemistry methods, but also other immunological applications, like Flow Cytometry.
