| Background | STK15 is a mitotic kinase-encoding protein. Overexpression activates an unknown oncogenic pathway that involves centrosome amplification and results in missegregation of chromosomes. It has also been noted that there is an overexpression of this protein in pancreatic tumors and carcinogenic cell lines, suggesting that it also plays a role in pancreatic carcinogenesis. |
