| Rabbit Monoclonal anti-GFP (N-term) (E385) | |
| Alternate names | anti-GFP antibody, anti-Green Fluorescent Protein antibody |
| Background | The green fluorescent protein (GFP) from the Pacific Northwest jellyfish Aequorea victoria (1) is extensively used as a fluorescent marker in molecular and cell biology both in vitro and in vivo. The protein is in the shape of a cylinder, comprising 11 strands of beta-sheet with an alpha-helix inside and short helical segments on the ends of the cylinder. This motif, with beta-structure on the outside and alpha-helix on the inside, is also referred as the beta-can (2-3). This rabbit monoclonal antibody can recognize wild type as well as the humanized formed of GFP and is especially useful for working with GFP expressed in Rodent cell lines or tissues |
