| Background | Fyn is a member of the Src tyrosine kinase that are involved in signal transduction. It is synthesized as a soluble protein and is rapidly translocated to the plasma membrane where it interacts with multiple proteins (1-2). Fyn is composed of a catalytic domain, a SH2 and SH3 domain which interact with the p85 sub-unit of PI3-K (3). Fyn is also required in the activation of the T cell antigen receptor/CD3 complex. The catalytic activity of Fyn is regulated by dephoshorylation of Tyr531 by CD45 (4). Additionally, Fyn is implicated in the control of cell growth. |
