| Background | This antibody stains with a 300 kD protein. P300 and CBP (CREB-binding protein) are homologous to each other. P300 is transcriptional adapter protein, which is characterized by three cysteine and histidine-rich regions. Protein kinase A mediated CREB phosphorylation results in the binding of CREB to a 265 kD nuclear protein designated CBP. This antibody crossreacts with monkey, mink, mouse and rat. |
