| Background | Steroid receptors are ligand-dependent intracellular proteins that stimulate transcription of specific genes by binding to specific DNA sequences following activation by the appropriate hormone. There is extensive documentation that avian PR isolated from tissue soluble extracts can exist in one of two different molecular forms A and B. Alpha PR22 reacts with both the 80 kDa A form and the 110 kDa B form of avian PR. |
