| Background | Ataxia telangiectasia (AT) (ATM for AT mutated) is a rare genetic multisystem recessive disorder. Recombinant ATM protein phosphorylates p53 on serine 15 near the N terminus, thereby contributing to the activation and stabilization of p53 during the IR induced DNA damage response. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) may over activate NF kappa B in AT, and this increases the radiosensitivity of AT cells tissues. |
