| Background | Ki-67 is expressed on all proliferating cells during late G1, S, M and G2 phase of the cell cycle. Ki-67 antibody is useful in establishing the growth fraction of neoplasms by identifying Ki-67 positive cells. Among low grade lymphomas, a Ki-67 value greater than 20-25% has been shown to identify patients with a more aggressive course and among intermediate to high grade lymphomas, poorer survival has been shown with Ki-67 index exceeding 60%. |
