| Applications | Western Blot: 1/1000 (using the ECL-enhanced procedure).
ELISA: 1/500. Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections and paraffin-embedded tissue after microwave treatment: 1/10. Incubation time: 1 h at Room Temperature. Special Treatment: It is necessary to include - 1 M NaCl in all washing buffers for application in Western blotting and ELISA. - 0.5 M NaCl for application on frozen tissue to enhance specificity. This is not necessary for paraffin sections. |
| Specificity | This antibody is specific for fetal (cardiac) isoform of actin.
Clone Ac1 represents an excellent marker for cardiac tissue; it discriminates fetal (cardiac) α-actin from all other actin isoforms. Mab Ac1-20.4.2 shows no cross reaction with other actin isoforms present in skeletal and smooth muscle, provided that stringent conditions have been applied (see "Special Treatment"). Species: Human, Bovine, Rabbit and Chicken. |
