| Background | MRP1 functions as a multispecific organic anion transporter, with (oxidized) glutathione, cysteinyl leukotrienes, and activated aflatoxin B1 as substrates. This protein also transports glucuronides and sulfate conjugates of steroid hormones and bile salts. It also transports drugs and other hydrophobic compounds in presence of glutathione. |

| Applications | Immunostaining of cell suspensions and cytospin preparations.
Immunohistochemistry of frozen tissue, and paraffin embedded tissue sections after microwave treatment (3x 3 min at 100°C in 0.01M citrate buffer). Flow cytometry (cell permeabilization required). Western Blotting (180 - 195 kD protein). Dilute 1/20-1/50 in PBS with 1% BSA and 0.1% Na-Azide. |
| Specificity | This Mab reacts with the internal epitope of MRP1 (aa 238-247), a 1531 aa protein, overexpressed in various human non-P-glycoprotein MDR tumor cell lines.
Does not cross-react with human P-glycoprotein, MDR3 Pglycoprotein or human cMOAT / MRP2 to MRP5. Species: Human, mouse. |
