| Background | F4/80 is a 160 kD glycoprotein expressed by most murine macrophages. The antigen is not expressed by lymphocytes or polymorphonuclear cells. |
| Immunogen | Thioglycollate stimulated peritoneal macrophages from C57/BL mice. Spleen cells from immunised HOB2 rats were fused with cells of the mouse NS-1 myeloma cell line. |

| Specificity | This antibody recognises the F4/80 antigen. The antibody binds to macrophages from different sites including the peritoneal cavity, lung, spleen and thymus, to blood monocytes and to macrophages derived from bone marrow precursors in culture.

| Storage | Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer.
