BackgroundThe expression of androgen receptor (AR) is reportedly inversely correlated with histologic grade i.e. well differentiated prostate tumors show higher expression than the poorly differentiated tumors. In prostate cancer, AR has been proposed as a marker of hormoneresponsiveness.
ImmunogenA synthetic peptide derived from N-terminus of rat AR.
Swiss Num.: P10275
Remarks: Mol. Wt. of Antigen: 110 kDa
Format
State: Liquid antiserum
Purification: Protein A chromatography
BufferSystem: 10 mM PBS, pH 7.4, with 0.2 % BSA & 0.09 % sodium azide.
ApplicationsImmuncytochemistry.
Immunoprecipitation (denatured verified, use Protein A, antibody 10 µg/mg protein lysate).
Immunohistochemistry: 5-10 µg/ml (Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min).
Western Blotting: 5 µg/ml for 2 hrs at RT. Recommended positive control: LnCap Cells or Prostate Carcinoma.
SpecificityThis antibody detects Androgen receptor.
Species: Human, Mouse, Rat.
StorageStore the antibody at 2 - 8 °C up to one month or in aliquots at -20 °C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Shelf life: one year from despatch.
