| Background | The monoclonal antibody is useful in establishing the cell growing fraction in neoplasms (immunohistochemically quantified by determining the number of Ki67-positive cells among the total number of resting cells = Ki67 index). In neoplastic tissues the prognostic value is comparable to the tritiated thymidinelabelling index. The correlation between low Ki67 index and histologically low-grade tumours is strong. |
| Immunogen | Human tumour cell line. Spleen cells from immunised BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the mouse X63-Ag 8.653 myeloma cell line. Swiss Num.: P46013 |
| Format | State: Liquid Tissue Culture Supernatant BufferSystem: 0.2M Tris/HCl, pH7.4 and 5-10% foetal calf serum containing 0.09% Sodium Azide |
| Applications | Flow Cytometry: Neat - 1/5; Cell permeabilisation is required for this application; Use 10µl of the suggested working dilution to label 10e6 cells in 100µl.
Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections: 1/10 - 1/50. Recommended Positive Control: Tonsil |
| Specificity | This antibody reacts with a nuclear antigen that is expressed by proliferating cells in all phases of the active cell cycle (G1, S, G2 and M phase). It is absent in resting (Go) cells.
Species: Human. |
| Storage | Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch. |
