| Background | Multi-drug resistance (MDR) associated p-glycoprotein (p170) causes resistance to various drugs in a number of cancer patients. It exists in a soluble and membrane associated form. Soluble P-glycoprotein is detected in extracellular fluids of cancer patients, such as malignant ascites and serum. The Mr of soluble
P-glycoprotein is the same as that of membrane bound P-glycoprotein (2). |
