| Monoclonal Antibody to Human XPA | |
| Concentration | 0.2 mg/ml |
| Background | The XPA (xeroderma pigmentosum group A) protein specifically recognizes the UV-or chemically damaged DNA lesions, and triggers the nucleotide excision repair process. XPA binds to the replication protein A (RPA) or the excision repair cross complementing 1 protein (ERCC1). In the absence of nucleotide excision repair persisting (unrepaired) DNA lesions (adducts) may lead to the accumulation of gene mutations and ultimately to cancer. Xeroderma pigmentosum patients have a > 2000 fold increased risk to develop skin cancer at sun-exposed areas. |
| Immunogen | Recombinant human XPA protein. Swiss Num.: P23025 Remarks: Mol. Wt. of Antigen: ~40kDa. |
| Applications | Western Blotting (Ab 1-2µg/ml for 2hrs at RT)
Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin) (Use Ab at 2-4µg/ml for 30 minute at RT) [Staining of formalin-fixed tissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.] |
| Specificity | This antibody detects XPA. Species: Human. |
| Storage | Store the antibody at 2 - 8 °C up to one month or in aliquots at -20 °C for longer.
Shelf life: one year from despatch. |
